Yingting's China --- July 9th, Sunday, Fine

The offspring of the Confucius About the Confucius and Confucianism Yingting's greeting

The offspring of the Confucius

Another hot day!

My parents are busy preparing a feast for our lunch, for only on Sunday, we can enjoy a short family reunion.

It is around the lunch time, as usual, I must do some contribution now.

Open the door and thread myself to the steamer outside. I try to rush to the stall where I can buy some cool beer. The stall is located at the end of a path,it is a nice and tranquil path, for on both sides there is the campus of a middle-school. But my Gosh! What the matter today, in front of me, it is definitely a traffic jam. There are almost thousands of people there, some are hold the umbrellas to hide themselves from the sharp sunshine, some are holding the ice-cream and most of them just stare at the gate of the school, seems forget everything including themselves. With a sharp bell tolling, lots of students are rushing out. Everything is alive now. Those people who are waiting outside struggle forward to meet their kids. It is quite a fun when you pay attention to the different expression on the different faces. Some eyes glittering with happiness while some others hiding the trace of tear.

what a fool, I am! Today is the last day for the entrance examination of the university. When I was a girl, all of my classmates called the three days [from July 7th to July 9th] as the "Black July" and this nickname is so popular nowadays in China that when you mention it, everybody will remember the crucial exam.

More than 12-year endeavor, but only one chance to show your fruit, I should say these three days is really a suffering period for both the students and the parents. "Nothing is lofty than reading books" a saying from our ancient sage Confucius, nobody can evaluate the influence of the Confucius, for his philosophy has already deeply rooted in all the aspects of the Chinese daily life. If you really want to understand Chinese, know something about our sage Confucius. I am deeply impressed by the view in front of me, what a battle! I am so happy because I believe a country who cherish knowledge so much must has a bright future. At the same time, I fell the pressure, I can feel the sharp competition, "WE NEED MORE CHANCES", I think that the dream of every student.
