A visit to the Wuzhishan Mountain is a must for those who are into eco-trips. The mountain, towering almost 2,000 feet above sea level, houses a plethora of plants and animals. Majestic giant trees are native to this region. A portion of the mountain known as the Jianfeng Ridge is an expansive wildlife and nature preserve, protection within its dense tropical rainforest, an extensive variety of rare plants and animals.

The province has paid great attention to environmental protection.  At present, the province has established 71 natural reserve districts in various parts of the island.
